Bangladesh Test and T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan on Friday put up an all-round display, including taking the wicket of fellow Liton Das, in Montreal Tigers’ five-wicket win over Surrey Jaguars in the ongoing third edition of the Global T20 Canada.
Both Shakib and Liton made their debut in GT20 League Canada on Friday but it was only memorable for one.
Shakib, introduced in the fifth over, had Liton caught in his fourth delivery to pick up his first wicket in the league. Shakib accounted for two more wickets in the game, ending with figures of three for 18 in four overs to help restrict Surrey Jaguars to 136 for six.
Shakib shone with the bat as well, scoring a quickfire 13-ball 26, including four boundaries and a six, as Montreal Tigers chased the target with nine balls to spare.
Liton, who smashed Carlos Brathwaite for a six in the very first over, could only make nine off 11 deliveries.
