Pray for us so that we can play well in Asia Cup and World Cup: Shakib

Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan sought prayers from fans ahead of the Asia Cup after fulfilling one of his commercial commitments in Dubai on Sunday. 

“We have the Asia Cup and the World Cup approaching. Pray for us so that we can play well,” Shakib said in his speech during the opening ceremony of the NRI Jewellery wholesale office in Dubai. 

Former Bangladesh skipper Mohammad Ashraful was also present in the ceremony in Dubai. 

The premier all-rounder, who has been named skipper of the ODI side for the upcoming Asia Cup and the World Cup in India later this year, left the country last month to play in the Global T20 League in Canada. From there, the all-rounder went to Sri Lanka to feature in the Lanka Premier League before making a trip to Dubai for fulfilling a commercial commitment.

Shakib is expected to return to the country today evening.
