Bangladesh cricket team’s head coach Chandika Hathurusingha had a bitter experience with an Australian airlines as he had to wait for almost an entire day after his flight was cancelled. The Sri Lanka-born coach, who is currently vacationing Down Under, also lost his bag.
Hathurusingha left Bangladesh recently after the series against Afghanistan and is expected to be back for the start of training camp by July 30. But his vacation in Australia couldn’t have started any worse.
His trouble started when his Virgin Australia Airlines flight was cancelled a few hours before the scheduled flight and there apparently wasn’t any alternate flight either, leaving him stranded for a day.
Hathurusingha relayed his ordeal on a Twitter post, which read: “I had the worst experience with #virginaustralia, cancelled the flights a few hours before take-off, didn’t offer an alternative flight the same day, finally got on to the flight the next day then it was delayed, and ended up lost bag too.”
